Good tea, quality food, beautiful interiors, attentive service. The Rabbit Hole in Redfern has got it all.
Eric and I both order the breakfast toast adventure with black tea chutney, spinach, bacon, poached eggs, and hollandaise. I dig the flavors, especially of the hollandaise. The only downside is that the chutney has made the bread all soggy. I love that The Rabbit Hole is proud of their produce, listing on their menu where their ingredients come from.
My berry bomb latte is a creamy blend of black tea, berries, Country Valley milk, and topped with dehydrated raspberries. Eric’s chai latte is too heavy-handed with the cardamom for me, but otherwise I’m glad it’s not sickly sweet like some other chai lattes I’ve had.
We grab the lavender shortbread and citrus almond cake to take away for an afternoon snack at home. The lavender shortbread is pretty beyond words. It’s a touch too sweet for me but otherwise delicious. But the slice of citrus cake is even better – incredibly moist and nutty. More please.
