We had lunch at Ormeggio a few months ago, so my recollection is somewhat hazy. What I do remember though is the mindblowing bottoni – tiny buttons of pasta exploding with a cheesy broth interior. The experience is almost like eating a xiao long bao. But instead it’s an umami-heavy parmigiano reggiano soup within the pasta. Oh lordy, it was one of the best things I ate in 2016. Plus that freaking incredible cheese box. The idea of matching cheese with a type of bread and different kinds of dried fruit or fruit paste makes so much sense to me. And did I mention it’s served in a custom-made box with tiny drawers? What a revelation. I need one.
Anyway, it was awesome. Here are some photos. The end.

Whoah you had me at the description of the bottoni! And yes, I’ve been eyeing off the cheese box for so long!
